Pictures. They tell a story.
Last year, many of you helped get me to Malawi. Serving on a short-term mission trip with Little Dresses for Africa. And I shared my journey, my story with you here. I also shared stories of the people I met there. The truth is, we all have a story to tell.
I want to be a storyteller. But this time for Rwanda. I want to hear the stories of the IJM clients rescued from violence and abuse who have been lifted out of poverty by creating products for Noonday Collection.
I want to be immersed in Rwandan culture. And learn about the artisans. I want to witness the impact that we can have together. And then to share their stories with you.
Just years ago I was naïve to the injustice of the world. But now that I know what I know; now that I’ve lived among some of the people who make less than $2 per day, I can’t go back. I can’t stand back and *do* nothing. I can’t sit here and pretend it doesn’t exist. I know too much. It’s real; it’s not fair and it’s heavy on my heart. Paralyzing sometimes.
I have the opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip to Rwanda, sponsored by Noonday Collection and IJM. Due to the generous votes of my friends, family and blog visitors, I am currently ranked #17 out of 377! It’s amazing and humbling and I never thought I’d get this far! BUT, I still need your help. I need to get into the top 7 by this Wednesday, the 28. Please, click on the link below (close the pop-up window if you’d like), scroll down until you see my picture and then click the blue “vote” button to vote for me! (You may or may not need to enter the captcha.) It only takes a few seconds, so please vote DAILY until May 28. And if you’re an over-achiever (and you know you are!) please share the link with your friends. I’m sending you many, many thanks in advance!
Stories. We all have a story to tell. And I want to tell this one.
